How to save money on airport parking in Germany
Booking on the day of your flight can cost 4× more than booking a week ahead. Here are five proven ways travellers cut their parking bill.
Booking parking at a major German airport like Frankfurt, Munich, or Berlin can easily cost €15–€25 per day if you do it on the day of departure.
But with a little planning, the same parking spot can be yours for as little as €4.90 per day.
1. Book at least a week ahead
Off-site providers reward early planners with much lower rates. Most reduce prices by 30–50% if you book seven or more days in advance.
2. Compare every nearby provider
Don't just pick the first result. Use a marketplace that surfaces multiple providers — you'll often find one a few hundred meters further away that's half the price.
3. Use a coupon code
Marketplaces regularly run promotions. Codes like WELCOME10 and SUMMER20 can shave 10–20% off your total at checkout.
4. Choose outdoor over covered if you can
Covered parking is great in winter snow, but for short trips outdoor lots can be 25% cheaper and just as secure.
5. Cancel and rebook if prices drop
Most providers offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival. If you spot a lower price after booking, cancel and rebook at the new rate.
